The San Fernando
A train-inspired, mid-century cocktail bar with casual vibes & comfort food classics. The staff are very relaxed and happy to chat while serving you delicious food, try the classic seven-ounce hamburger for $7. Happy hour runs from 3 to 7 pm every day. My cocktail of choice, At The Races.
Le Petit Paris
Le Petit Paris is modelled after the original restaurant that is located in Cannes. ‘Le Petit Paris features multiple skylights, a mezzanine level, a lounge, a room dedicated to date night goers, “La Boutique,” a gift shop with artisanal goods from France and a large outdoor patio.’ Happy hour is 4 pm to 7 pm Monday to Friday with $1 oysters with bottomless $18 rosé wine. My cocktail of choice, Le Pastel.
We couldn’t talk about happy hour spots without including this gem. Tallula’s is a Mexican restaurant located in Santa Monica Canyon just a few hundred feet from the beach. Happy Hour is Monday through Friday 4-6pm in the bar, lounge and patio. And for $8 margaritas, that’s seriously good value.
Saint Felix is known for its excellent service and speciality cocktails. One drink to try in particular is the Watermelon Martini which tastes like watermelon sweets or a custom old fashioned with syrup. There’s a patio outside where you can sip your drink, have a chat and listen to the music going on inside. Happy hour is from 4 pm to 8 pm every day.
1920s-style saloon with ornate, throwback decor offering haute classic cocktails. A lot of famous comedians have performed here too such as Reggie Watts, Amy Schumer and Kristen Schaal. One cocktail I recommend is the Neruda, mostly because I can’t pronounce any of the ingredients so it must be good! Happy hour is Tuesday 7 pm to 12 pm, Wednesday to Monday 7 pm to 9 pm.
Pour Haus Wine Bar
Next on our list of 10 happy hour spots in LA has to be Pour Haus. This place encourages you to stay a while and enjoy the ambiance. Its also a nice spot for brunch and they do monthly wine themed game nights. ‘Whether you are passing by and just in need of a bottle to go or you just want to make a new friend, Pour Haus can provide.’ My drink of choice? All of them because they are only $5. Happy hour is daily from 4 pm to 7 pm.
Candela La Brea
Happy hour is every day from 4 to 7 pm and every Wednesday is $1 taco day. Once known as ‘The Mexican Nightclub’, satisfy your Mexican craving with their traditional, exciting menu and quench your thirst at their extensive, fully stocked bars. I don’t have a drink of choice for this one, but I do recommend their cream filled churros. Yum!
Faith and Flower
Faith & Flower is a contemporary Los Angeles restaurant located in the WaterMarker Tower in downtown LA’s South Park district. Their happy hour is Sunday through Thursday 5 to 6.30pm with $8 speciality cocktails; I recommend the Sin Invierno. It’s also a great brunch spot with eggs benedict pizza and fried apple pie. So you can enjoy happy hour one day and stroll in the next day for a good feed.
Located in the heart of Silver Lake on Sunset Blvd, Cliff’s has been a favourite of East side diners since 2004. Innovative cocktails are expertly prepared in the recently remodelled, elegant and cosy bar, where mixologists make fresh syrups and infusions daily. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday, 6 pm to midnight, Friday and Saturdays 6 pm to 2 am. My cocktail of choice is the Apricollins.
The Craftsman Bar and Kitchen
Situated in Santa Monica, this laid-back spot doesn’t care if you wear a suit or flip flops, they just want you to have fun. With lots of scrumptious cocktails such as the Bee’s Knees and happy hour lasting until 8 pm, the Craftsman is the perfect place to unwind after work. Plus you can play giant Jenga and who doesn’t want to do that?!
