“Don’t stay in a job that doesn’t make you feel happy to go to everyday.”
Life doesn’t always go as planned, and oftentimes we can find ourselves on a path that isn’t for us. GirlCrew member, Linda spent over a decade as a chef before deciding to make a drastic change. “After working as chef for over 10 years, my Dad passed away and it put a lot of things into perspective for me. [I] wasn’t that happy in my current role and I decided I wanted to pursue a career in the beauty industry.”
Swopping the knives for nails, Linda set up NewLookFX, a boutique specialising in all things beauty. Along with treatments, Linda also offers make-up classes for adults and teens. Despite this change, there are some things that have remained the same and Linda still finds herself working unusual hours to fulfil the needs of her clients – although now this has become something she relishes.
“I understand that not everyone works a 9-5 job and that is why I cater to people at odd hours of the day, working to a schedule that suits YOU.” Putting the customer first drives Linda, and she is keen to ensure that each client gets a service that makes them feel special. “Here at NewLookFX I strive to provide a personalised approach to beauty, I listen to my client’s needs and do my utmost to achieve their goals.”
With this in mind, Linda has opened her business to people of all ages, and they are flocking to her store. “I have clients of all age ranges from 18 – 70, I enjoy chatting with them over a fresh made cappuccino as they get their treatments! I have tried to create a welcoming homey atmosphere where people can relax, unwind and enjoy a little ”me time”.” If you’re looking for a little me-time, and are based in Wicklow, make sure you pop into Linda for all your beauty needs.
