How To Make Friends in Limerick

Finding your niche in a new city can feel overwhelming. But don’t worry, Limerick is a city with all types of activities that make it easy for anyone to find their scene. Here are our best tips and tricks on how to make friends in Limerick!

Check out the Market

The Limerick Milk Market is the longest running weekly market in Ireland and for good reason! Since 1852, the Milk Market has been serving up local grub and showcasing handmade artisanal goods each week. Best visited early Saturday morning, pop by the Milk Market and be sure to get yourself a crepe at Bon Appetit and a cup of coffee at Harpers Cafe House!

Celtic Park and Gardens

Celtic Park and Gardens, also known as Adare Town Park, is a beautiful little park to take a stroll through. Just a short trip from Limerick, the park is a quaint little place to breathe in some fresh air and take in the flowers, trees and sculptures. Pro tip: before heading to the park, grab an ice cream from the Heritage Centre to enjoy as you meander through the park; or better yet, have yourself a picnic!

Get Paddling

Get West offers all types of kayaking excursions “from relaxing Try-a-Kayak taster sessions to riveting whitewater trips”. There is one trip that we’re eager to try ourselves: night kayaking! Really, how cool would it be to be paddling around under the Limerick stars and city lights? But if kayaking is a little too classic for you and you’re looking to shake things up a bit, water zorbing might just find its way on your to-do list.
