Julep is situated right on Washington Avenue in Houston. It has a laid-back vibe that everyone can enjoy, and they are even pet-friendly. Outside, is a veranda area which is perfect for big groups. There are specials offers on bottles of champagne and an awesome cocktail menu too. If you are in the mood for nibbles, treat yourself to some delicious oysters. Julep is one the top happy hour spots in Houston for 2018. Happy hour is from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Roka Akor

In the mood for some tasty Japanese food? Roka Akor Houston is the place for you. The happy hour menu includes nibbles like fried chicken with smoked chili aioli; beef skewer with Korean chili ginger glaze; tuna tartare; and snow crab with avocado maki. Finish off with some sake or a gin martini. Happy hour is Monday through Friday, 4.30pm to 6 pm

The Hay Merchant

The Hay Merchant is one of the best happy hours in Houston. Starting from 11 am to noon and then 3 pm to 6 pm every day. They have an amazing offer too, 30 beers for $3 dollars each, $5 for a beer and a shot included. They have lots of craft beer to try too and have the ‘Mud Turtle’ program. Where you learn about the different beers as you drink them. There are perks and prizes the more you learn.

Moving Sidewalk

Moving Sidewalk is a neat little cocktail bar situated in downtown Houston. The bartenders make you feel special by making your cocktail right in front of you. This adds to the prohibition era feel of the place. Their seasonal menus change regularly and incorporate a new theme every time. Happy hour is every day 5 pm to 8 pm with $2 off cocktails. I recommend the ‘crash collins’ because I’m a sucker for gin.


Boheme is based in the lively Montrose area. Its surrounded by a 6,000 square foot garden open for patrons to explore. Inside, authentic steel frame windows, original brick walls, cozy couches, and antique light fixtures grace the space with a subtle old world vibe. They take private bookings too so this would be a great space for a GirlCrew event ( hint hint Houston ) Happy hour is 4 pm to 7 pm every day.

Simone On Sunset

A courtyard entry with a European feel, complete with candles and comfortable seating. Share stories at the bar, hang out with your group of friends at the community table and treat yourself to some delicious cocktails at Simone on Sunset. The bar also has live music most nights and adds to the feel of chilling out, almost like your on vacation. Happy hour is 4 pm to 7 pm Monday to Friday, 3 pm to 7 pm on the weekends.

  2. It has been a while since I went to a restaurant to order one of their house cocktails. These drinks look very appetizing and enticing. My mouth is watering just looking at those jumbo shrimps.

  5. I don’t drink so, I have nothing to compare this too BUT, it does look like a fun place to go and hang with friends. I can always order water on the rocks to look cool!
