Look Up Local Festivals
It wouldn’t be summer without a few festivals so it’s always worth looking up some local ones. In Leeds along with many other cities, festivals aren’t just specific to music or summer either and along with Leeds super popular Slam Dunk music festival in May each year, you can find foodie festivals like the Huddersfield Food & Drink Festival on at other times of the year. Your local GirlCrew group is a great way to see what’s coming up in the area as someone always spots the cool stuff or invites others along if they’re headed to something. So long FOMO!
The Key Club
If it’s time to rock your socks off, The Key Club in Leeds city centre is the spot to head to. It’s an alternative rock venue. Expect to be brought back to your teenage angst days. We take no responsibility for ensuing rebellious streaks!
Have a Spa Day
All out city posts have focused on some pretty active things, so in Leeds, we’ve decided to ‘virtually’ chill for a moment and suggest something a little luxurious and relaxing. For some time out in a fluffy robe with friends in Leeds, try The Imagine Spa at Hazlewood Castle. Maybe with afternoon tea before or after if you’re feeling especially indulgent.
Afternoon Tea at the Sky Lounge
Another spot for afternoon tea, and with an amazing view of the city is the Sky Lounge. Enjoy panoramic views of the city while stuffing your face with scones and cream. Perfect. And when people ask you what you saw in Leeds, you can still legitimately answer “Why everything of course.”
Leeds Jump Arena
But just before you get too settled into robes and scones, don’t forget there’s a bit a of a child in you yet, right? Grab your best friends, and a nemesis or two if you want to plan some jump-offs and get yourselves out to Leeds Jump Arena. So much fun and a great workout to boot!
Making friends in Leeds
Making friends as an adult can be hard, even if you’ve lived somewhere you’re entire life and Leeds, as friendly as everyone is, is no different. GirlCrew was set up to make a few new friends for nights out on the town, but it quickly evolved into the place to go for some new female friends for any kinds of social activities. It started in Dublin but there’s a great group growing in Leeds too now, along with over 40 other city groups across the globe too. The group is open to all women over 25 years and with no upper age limit. There are always new members joining so don’t feel worried about everyone already knowing each other. We’ve all been newbies once! Hit the link below to join the Leeds crew or check out our other city groups here.
